As an update I am honestly not sure what the issue was. I ran packet filters on our firewalls (even the ones I knew didn't affect this node) and they were forwarding everything. TCP, UDP, IP, etc.
I tried to put this box outside the firewall which in essence would allow it to be used on the other side of our network which spans from a MPLS VPN. However, like that I couldn't reach the box and despite my ACLs still I couldn't reach it. I believe in this instance there was a firewall rule that overruled my own.
So, I just wiped the whole darn thing and started from scratch. After 2 hours of configuration and adding devices I managed to get all 50 devices up, running, polling and Geo Located.
Thanks!

Sorry. I must of hit a hot key before I finished responding. My bad.
This is the default location when a location doesn't properly geolocate. You've either been unlucky enough to chose a load of un-geolocatable locations, or your server doesn't have access to the geolocation API. Are you firewalling it? ========================================================================================================================= administrator@network-monitoring:~$ sudo ufw status [sudo] password for administrator: Status: inactive administrator@network-monitoring:~$
We do have a Sonicwall at the front of our network but it shouldn’t prevent anything.
Should I install a GeoLocate? Like this: http://pleasefeedthegeek.wordpress.com/2012/05/09/geolocation-lookups-in-lin...
BTW, don't set the in-GUI location if you have a sysLocation. It's only there to provide workaround when you can't set sysLocation. ========================================================================================================================= I tried it with the GUI location, without the GUI and sysLocation defined in devices (like switches), and with both. :-/
The location will only be re-geolocated if the location changes. You can force it to be re-located by setting location_lat and location_lon to NULL in the devices table in the database. ========================================================================================================================= I take it this is done in the Ubuntu box with Observium.

DESCRIPTION
I have Observium 0.13.8.4256 installed. I believe this is the most updated version. I have entered a sysLocation on all of my devices and within the Observium GUI I set a sysLocation as well. All of my devices sit in the Atlantic ocean.
