      Try running:
./discovery.php -h ny-tor-sw1.mgt.peer1.squarespace.net -m ports -d | 
grep -i ifalias
and
./poller.php -h ny-tor-sw1.mgt.peer1.squarespace.net -m ports -d | grep 
-i ifalias
Do you see your port descriptions in both or just in discovery?

Upgraded to the latest version - 0.14.10.5876, and tried to re-add the 
device  - nothing changed. Attached two screen shots: before and after 
polling.
