iirc cisco doesn't share this via any kind public api.

It would be nice if there was another column next to "Operating System" for Network devices that had the latest reported IOS from Cisco/Dell. That way one could easily see which devices need to be upgraded to the latest IOS to ensure that security and bug fixes are addressed.
