Yup.
I'm going to guess centos with mysql package from mysql.com?
There's a reason we tell you to install the package we do :D

And the default 5.6.27 seems to be set to Strict indeed:
GLOBAL.sql_mode: STRICT_TRANS_TABLES,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION
would that be the issue?

Have you, perchance, installed on a system with php7 or a mysql server in strict mode?

What you pasted seems to be working properly. What *exactly* is the problem?
Aye - that is what I thought as well.
Issue is that the Ports menu, the All Ports page, the ports grahps and what not are all very empty. As is the Device Settings->Port Properties ifIndex page.

We recently installed a new/parallel Observium (the old one had not been upgraded for years). The baseline is from http://www.observium.org/observium-community-latest.tar.gz as of today; with a new/fresh config.php.
All fine & modern — except for the Ports on the various firewalls and switches not showing up automatically (Neither in ports or in settings; Port Properties). The ‘ports’ poller module is enable; as are POE and ports/port-stack in discovery.
Any hint as where to fix/debug/dig as to understand why this is ?
Thanks,
Dw.
