Hi Adam,
I understand and indeed I see your attempt to keep all those infos as neat as possibile. Perhaps the fake local names could be a solution, but in some cases it would be a long and tedious job. A proposal: TLD and second level domain (company.com) in smaller fonts just below the machine name...?
Cheers Luca

Hmm. This is an interesting request.
The UI is designed to cut down the hostname to a manageable size, otherwise everything would be horrifically messy (we already struggle to find enough space in tables with ~12 character hostnames).
I'm not sure what a good solution to this would be. If I were running an installation with multiple devices I couldn't tell apart, I'd probably use "fake" hostnames for them via /etc/hosts.
IIRC there is an option to lengthen the hostname shortener length, but I forget what it is (and it probably doesn't work everywhere).
adam.

Hi,
does it exist a config value to show the devices FQDN within Syslog? Here we monitor devices from several companies and it would be needed, to discriminate between them.
Thanks Luca
