Back in the bad old days, esx was run on a version of RedHat Linux (RHEL). Now they run their own kernel.
During discovery, i noticed that the unix agent was trying to be contacted and also has (unix). Reasonably sure VMware won't support it. Your native VM detection and polling is sufficient anyway.
