Hi,
Second update 😊
Was looking in the database if there is more information.
What I found in the table *vminfo* is a column *‘vm_uuid’* which is filled with the value *‘uuid.bios’* from the *<vm>.vmx *file.
There are duplicates in this table, the same you can see in Observium GUI.
The duplicates are ‘correct’ as the same values are used in the different .vmx files for the VM’s in VMware/ESXi.
When cloning a VM the ‘uuid.bios’ doesn’t seem to update this value (keeps the same), which in turn creates the duplicates in Observium.
The problem starts with VMware/ESXi, not with Observium.
Does anybody know if this value can be changed in VMware/ESXi ?
Met vriendelijke groet,
