I have 2 ex4550s in production for several years with copper SPFs, and SNMP works just great. I'm not sure whats the best way to demonstrate this, and unfortunately I don't have any ex4550s not in production to try stuff out on, but it definitely works.
I have 2 ex4550-32f running 12.3R6.6. -Nick
