think I found it. When I run the poller for only that switch and other switches (ICX7xxx series), I see this:

o Caching Oids ifEntry ifXEntry ADSL-LINE-MIB EtherLike-MIB dot3StatsDuplexStatus

And this is what I see on a Brocade CER (and in the output of the poller I see descriptions and aliases);

##### Module Start: ports #####
o Caching OIDs ifDescr ifAlias ifName ifType ifOperStatus

So, it looks like something changed in Observium not to using the needed OID's? Or do I look in the wrong direction?

finished checking with SNMP. I have the following results (omitted a lot of blanks and private info with //).

But nothing showed the mentioned port information stated earlier. Any tips? Maybe removing by hand somewhere in Observium?

I also tried to disable and enable the port yesterday, but I don't see that in the logs.
I am now trying to get the ifalias info from SNMP to test.

Is observium trying to clear tge port description for this port every 5 mins? (You can see in the event log for the port).

If so, its an observium bug. If not, it's a vendor bug reporting incorrect ifAlias.
