Got the issue.

 

The SNMP community was public in the observium settings.

 

Changed it to as per the device and then was able to discover the device.

Are you sure the Observium-server is able to ping the device? This error message means that Observium was not able to get an ICMP-response from the device.

Try adding the device from Observium CLI with debug output.

I am trying to add a device ZNEQLP206.

 

I have added Observium’s IP and community string on the server’s SNMP file.

 

I can ping the observium server from the device I want to discover and also on the reverse way. But when I try to discover the device I get the following error:
