This is an old question, but were anyone able to find HSRP-states in the database to use with alerts?  Not syslog.

Looks like something worth adding though!

I don’t believe there is an HSRP tracker. It’s definitely not in the sensor entity type. Sensors are things like current, dBm, fan speed, power, state, temperature, voltage, etc. There’s a list of known metrics and attributes here:

Examples of values can be found in your MySQL database.

Is there a way to add a checker for Cisco HSRP events?

From CISCO-HSRP-MIB…

HsrpState ::= TEXTUAL-CONVENTION

    STATUS          current

    DESCRIPTION

        "The current state of the HSRP protocol for a given

        HSRP group entry."

    SYNTAX          INTEGER  {

                        initial(1),

                        learn(2),

                        listen(3),

                        speak(4),

                        standby(5),

                        active(6)

                    }

This does not work…
