When this happened to me it was because the device wasn't always returning the information in SNMP so to Observium they didn't exist anymore. 

You need to investigate why the device isn't always returning all the data. In my case I increased the snmp timeouts, which were set too aggressively, to give the device longer to reliably return everything but there could possibly be a number of reasons the device doesn't always respond correctly.
