How to add SNMP support in observium for ambient Temperature
Hi all,
I hope someone can help, I'm sure this has been answered before? - Sorry in advance!
I want to monitor a few Linux machines with ambient temperature sensing devices. The NetSNMPd Client Configuration is working and I get a successful response as you can see:
~# snmpget -v 2c temphost -c public .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.10 HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSystem.9 = Gauge32: 23000
How can I modify the host configuration to add the ambient Temperature information in the Observium?
Best regards,
Jens
You need wrote code so non-standart sensors can be detected.
Who put sensor in HOST-RESOURCES-MIB anyway?

I put the sensor in the HOST-RESOURCES-MIB, is there a better place to put?

You need to write code so that Observium will discover the sensor.

You can't just put stuff in to existing MIBs.
adam.
It is therefore not possible with Observium?

Well kinda, you just need populate ENTITY-SENSORS property. Otherwise it won't work w/o writing any code for observium.
