Hi All,
this is again going to sound like a stupid question,
does anyone have a guide on how to setup IPMI on a debian server?
currently i can’t monitor fan speeds of our dell servers, however ive noticed 'ipmi-sensors’ is showing me
18 | Fan 1A | Fan | 3770.00 | RPM | 'OK' 19 | Fan 2A | Fan | 3828.00 | RPM | 'OK' 20 | Fan 3A | Fan | 3712.00 | RPM | 'OK' 21 | Fan 4A | Fan | 4930.00 | RPM | 'OK' 22 | Fan 5A | Fan | 3654.00 | RPM | 'OK' 23 | Fan 1B | Fan | 7548.00 | RPM | 'OK' 24 | Fan 2B | Fan | 7326.00 | RPM | 'OK' 25 | Fan 3B | Fan | 7104.00 | RPM | 'OK' 26 | Fan 4B | Fan | 6956.00 | RPM | 'OK' 27 | Fan 5B | Fan | 6882.00 | RPM | ‘OK'
so could i use ipmi ?
also could i use impi to monitor the board temperature instead of lmsensors ?
regards
Simon

We support dell omsa's snmp extensions too.

Hi Adam,
I don’t know if the server we have support the dell omsa
they are old ones DELL CS23-SH, CS24-SC
but I will look into this...
I managed to setup ipmitools working using ipmitool-sensor agent script and that works fine
Regards
Simon
