CAMBIUM ePMP 1000 shown as Generic MIPS
Hi All,
I have just received from the vendor the MIBs for the CAMBIUM ePMP for FW version 2.5.1 and 2.4.2 (renamed CAMBIUM-ePMP-2.5.1-MIB and CAMBIUM-ePMP-2.4.2-MIB)
I put them under the MIB folder
root@T1000:/opt/observium/mibs/cambium# ls -l total 944 -rwxrwxr-x 1 user user 222338 Dec 2 15:06 CAMBIUM-ePMP-2.4.2-MIB -rwxrwxr-x 1 user user 215949 Dec 2 15:06 CAMBIUM-ePMP-2.5.1-MIB -rw-rw-r-- 1 user user 164656 Nov 20 2014 CAMBIUM-PTP800-V2-MIB -rw-rw-r-- 1 user user 13857 Nov 20 2014 MOTOROLA-PTP-MIB -rwxrwxr-x 1 user user 121942 Nov 4 2014 WHISP-APS-MIB -rwxrwxr-x 1 user user 107218 Nov 4 2014 WHISP-BOX-MIBV2-MIB -rwxrwxr-x 1 user user 3715 Nov 4 2014 WHISP-GLOBAL-REG-MIB -rwxrwxr-x 1 user user 96040 Nov 4 2014 WHISP-SM-MIB -rwxrwxr-x 1 user user 2416 Nov 4 2014 WHISP-TCV2-MIB root@T1000:/opt/observium/mibs/cambium#
but OBSERVIUM still shows the antennas as generic "Linux server"

Maybe I missed a step. There is something else that I need to do?
Thanks for your help
Federico
Putting MIBs in a directory is basically like putting a map in your car's glove box.
It does nothing. :D
Code needs to be written to support these devices.

Hi Adam, Thank you for your reply. A couple of question:
- How can I understand which code per devices/model are supported in observium? I saw your web page ( http://www.observium.org/supported_devices/) but how can I understand which model for brand are supported? - If I switch to PRO version, is it possible to require a code for the CAMBIUM devices?
Thank you
Regards,
Federico

There isn't really a complete device compatibility matrix, since it would be an impossible task to create. Especially which wireless vendors who do not understand SNMP and seem to want to create a new set of MIBs for each hardware model.
Oddly enough, £150 doesn't include the ability to demand custom development, no! :D

Fair enough! Thanks for that.
