Hi again,
SNMP traps are working (thanks to the wiki), so now I can see nearly immediately when a port on a switch goes down. However, something like "Nortel Networks BayStack 5510-24T Ethernet Switch Module - Unit 1 Port 1" doesn't say much about what exactly went down. Just an idea: would it be possible to provide a way to edit the port names?

Hi Tom,
if you use Subscribers Edition, check latest revision (this names should be fixed).

Yes, you keep being surprised at your own feat ;-)
There's a file included (instructions on the wiki) which handles port up/down traps, and it works. Probably won't process alerts, but still. Status is updated in DB.
This is not the first report of this - I must admit I was as surprised as you, the first time I heard it ;)

That's seems to be how it works indeed. Snmptt executes /opt/observium/snmptrap.php which updates the DB. You still need to refresh (or wait for the auto refresh) the web interface to see the changes. But you'd see the same results after max 5 minutes when the snmp poller detects the up/down change, so without alerts, this is pretty much useless :-)
We're not using the subscriber edition (yet) so I can't tell if any alerts are triggered, but if not, would it be very complicated to make that work as well?
