I don't know if its asks already but is it possible to automaticly delete old alert logs from de db just like the logrotation on a linux system.

Check the housekeeper script and configuration options.

The UI should know when the housekeeping script was last run and alert if it's not been run for a week, or something.
This'll nicely kick old users to start using it, too.
