Just for grins, I checked mine this morning before running the latest round of updates (which I usually only do manually once a week), and my TS-269L's serial was showing correctly in the inventory screen... was there really anything broken?

Yes in inventory i have too
But if i compare with Synology, Synology has Serial in Overview table
And Qnap in Inventory ;)
