Arista VARP IP addresses not being discovered?
We’ve noticed that although Observium picks up the VRRPv3 virtual IP addresses on our Cisco NX-OS switches, it does not detect or capture the VARP virtual IP addresses on our Arista EOS switches. Is that expected behaviour? If so, what information do you need to change Observium so that it can detect VARP IPs and display them on the appropriate interfaces? If not, what debug output should I be looking at – discovery? Polling? Which section? Thanks, -Adam

We collect IPs from IP-MIB. If Arista doesn’t put them there, we can’t see them. We’re somewhat at the mercy of how vendors chose to implement things.
They might have another MIB for these addresses, but we don’t currently collect it. It also might not be presented in a way that makes it easy to collect.
Adam.

Hi, please make and attach full snmp dump from device with VARP addresses:
snmpwalk -v2c -c <community> -Cc --hexOutputLength=0 -ObentxU <hostname> .1 > myagent.snmpwalk
snmpwalk -v2c -c <community> -Cc --hexOutputLength=0 -ObentxU <hostname> .1.3.6.1.4.1 >> myagent.snmpwalk
you can send this dump to me personally or create Jira issue and attach there.
