We already have an issue where round cube and android that I'm testing on display base64'd inline graph images, but maarten's outlook doesn't.

Yep, there is reason you don't want inline graph images. Like poor connection for example and plain text much simpler to implement property as you can see :)

I want them.
It gives insight on a traffic pattern, and allows you to ignore an email/alert, based on what you see has been the trend. It improves decision making.
If you don't want that convenience and want to stay in 1992, yes, there should be an option of sending text only alerts.
Implementation is not really an issues if it's hard to do it, once it's done, nobody cares. Poor connections, that's fixable, and nowadays, who has a bad connection? If I experience a bad connection, I most surely can also not read my text email.

Well by poor I mean GPRS/EDGE, like I have now, when I'm on train from one city to another.
Its not about 1992, its about personal convince, that's it. If you fine with HTML, sure why not.
