yes I know, also wondered this. I need to send to some customers, and integrate a graphics system erp. And this system for now recognizes only jpg

You could script something which grabs the desired graphs and then feeds them trough ImageMagick 'convert' command.
RRDTool only supports outputting in PNG or in EPS/PDF/SVG vector formats.
You could wrap imagemagick around it, but it would be /slow/.
