Hi Remco,
Load average isn't currently exposed to the alerting system.
This is historically because it's not present on all devices.
Perhaps it wouldn't be difficult to expose it, but you'd need to be careful to only use it on devices where it existed.
I'll investigate adding it.

You could do a percentage on the average cpu like in my pic attached ?

It seems I'm an idiot, because these metrics already exist.
You can use :
device_la (equal to device_la_5min) device_la_1min device_la_5min device_la_15min
You'll want to limit these to only devices that return this data, and different OSes handle these values differently, so you don't want to share alerts for Linux and FreeBSD, for example.

I just update to Observium 18.7.9337 (stable) and see that the /add_alert_check/entity_type=device/ field are change. Now i see Association Ruleset as new field ( for me ). Can you give me an example how to create an alert check for device_la_5min ? An screenshot from and example will be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

You just use these as normal:

Ok that is clear to me. So i add an rule device_la > 10 for testing propose and receive the alert:
But the Load Averages graph is not add ad you can see but ping :). What going wrong here?

It's just displayed a generic ping device graph because there isn't one defined for load average in the definitions at the moment.
