Re: [Observium] Collecting snmp traps with Observium

Hello.
We would like to collect snmp traps from our routers and use them for alerting. However i cant find a way to do it? Has someone managed to get this to work? We are trying to get alerting to work with IS-IS neighbor up and down and so on.
Best regards. //Gustav

Use syslog, you can see all the same stuff there.
Handling traps is pretty complex, and not something we really want to get involved in.

We use SNMPTRAPD to log traps to the local syslog on the Observium server then use a syslog alert rule.
Works well for us.

We have a number of EMC sans that don’t do syslog (because reasons I guess…).
Its not perfect but it works okay.

Ahhh thank you, seems to be a good workaround. 😊
