[26F-1954B6F9-04B5] when i start observium i look 66% CPU usage on Switch

Hello All,
i'm new on here.
i look on my HP Switch CPU usage = 66% when i stop the Observium, the CPU usage on Switch Down to 7% when i start the Observium again, the CPU usage Up to 66% again
could someone tell me what might be causing so much CPU usage on the switch?
Thanks, Rodrigo Araujo ITMNETWORKS

SNMP polling. We saw this problem on our older HP Procurves before we decommissioned them.

You could try to disable some modules for that specific device and see if your CPU usage drops to acceptable levels. On Brocades for example the "q-bridge-mib-fdb" module leads to high CPU utilisation for unknown reasons, so I disabled it on all TurboIron devices and now I'm living happily after.
Kind regards,
Job

Poorly implemented SNMP on the network devices themselves.
Make sure code up is up to date on your network gear and check the release-notes to make sure you aren't hitting any known bugs for the code rev you're running.

If the switch has a large MAC address table, you can see high CPU usage on a switch, due to the SNMP protocol requiring them to be returned in order.
See this: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a0080...
Not sure if this is the problem, but it is the first thing that comes to mind.
