Hi!
I got a problem with my new install. i get messege: 2014-08-25 11:00:01 "host"
System Device status changed to Up
2014-08-25 10:55:07 "host"
System Device status changed to Down (ping) its always down 5min, and if i ping the host its up. its just observium that think its down.
ive google it and tried ping settings in config and i dont get it to work.
someone know whats wrong?

Do you have any switch errors? Such as spanning tree?

no i dont have anything in the log on any switch on the way. i think its strange that its exactly 5 min down every time. it seems that many others have the same problem too.

It's exactly 5 minutes because the poller runs exactly 5 minutes apart.
If Observium marks your device down, it's because it fails to reach your device via PING or SNMP.
If Observium later marks your device up, it's because it succeeds in reaching your device via PING or SNMP.
This issue is almost *always* caused by poor network connectivity or badly configured firewalls.
