since there is no way that I know of creating alert checkers on temperature sensors
can it be adjusted system wide ? or the only way is per device ?
BR Meir
The * helps with that.
Set your threshold and then when your picking device to like ios as * or hostname as * to capture all devices.

So, it is possible to create an alert checker on temperature sensors?
Didn't find any sensor related here http://www.observium.org/wiki/Alerting_Metrics_and_Attributes
can you walk me through it ?
what should I put under checker condition to match all the sensors above 50 degrees Celsius ?

observium mailing list observium@observium.org http://postman.memetic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/observium
Hi Meir,
Apparently that list isn't complete (anymore); there is a "sensor" entity you can monitor.
i'd say
Entity match: sensor_class is temperature
Checker condition: sensor_value gt 50
Host match whatever you want to match. If you want to match sensor names I believe the field is sensor_descr.
I haven't tested, but give it a try and let us know if you don't get it to work.
