Syslog alerting OSPF state change

I set up syslogging then creating the alert check looking for /FULL\ to\ DOWN/ for cisco i manually triggered the events in my network on a unused path and the syslog messages came in but i didn't get any triggers on the alert checkers.
Is there something wrong with my setup or alert checks? Where would I start looking?
