Morning there are some good practices how to enable snmpv3. 1. SNMP v3 is standard feature set of the SNMP packages in all main *Nix distros. 2. on your device enable snmp v3 and set variables: username, password , crypto key. (username and password are mandatory) 3. on your network device choose type of the encryption for password (MD5/SHA) for encryption key (DES/AES/AES-128). Since you set minimall requirements you can verify if the configuration is correct via snmpwalk. check manual: https://linux.die.net/man/1/snmpwalk

Now is the time to add device to Observium: - add new device and fill username and password and encryption type to the form.

You should read some materials about snmpv3 is more complex than snmpv2. I fully recommend: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_Network_Management_Protocol

SNMPv3 is more complex than SNMPv2 and requires all of the configuration parameters to match.

If you're having trouble making SNMPv3 work to a particular type of device, you should try to make it work properly from the commandline using snmpwalk first.

We can't really give a great deal of help for end devices beyond auth and encryption configuration on both Observium and the end device needing to match.
