QNAP up / down every second poll
Hi All
after upgrading a QNAP Device from 4.3.3 to 4.3.4 SNMP works every second poll. Event Log is full with things like: 2018-07-25 12:40:02 nas01 Device status changed to Up 2018-07-25 12:35:08 nas01 Device status changed to Down (snmp)
How can I further troubleshoot this?
It used to work before for more than a year.
Thanks Basile
It seems according to the monitor its either try restarting the monitor or reboot the QNAP. I am not using observium but my monitor had to be restarted to stop the flapping just a suggestion

It seems the device is periodically not responding to SNMP.
Does this persist after a reboot?
Adam.

Hi Michael
what do you mean by "monitor"? I restarted snmpd on the QNAP Device. Did not change anything...
Thanks Basile

Restarted the box. Lets see in a few hours... Seems rebooting is a thing again these days...

Hi,
seems as you use CE edition? (In Pro this events now have more detailed information).
But anyway reboot event based only on sysUpTime / snmpEngineTime / hrSystemUptime counter (depending on what is available on device). If current counter less than previous - reboot event generated. (in fact, conditions are a little more complicated, but the main condition is current < previous).
You should see debug output for device polling (when reboot counter generated) :) ./poller.php -d -m system -h <device>
