Hi there.

Since the 19th of July, when I most probably svn up'ed, I have two identical devices that spams the logs with "Interface changed: [ifAdminStatus] '' -> '0'". They're 2 Tandberg LTO libraries and the're no sensor monitored in it, since not supported, but only the admin interface availability. The interestng thing about the alert is that it's always the same.

New subject: Log's spammed by "Interface changed: [ifAdminStatus] '' -> '0'" for two devices after svn up.

This is due to that value being invalid in that field.

Terribly annoying that vendors return invalid data. What do they actually mean? Is this port up or down?

Previously we had no constraints on the data. Now we reject what isn't a valid entry to save database space.

Probably we should rewrite unknown stuff to unknown.

I must have been drunk on my vacation when I said that it was fixed. Looking now at it when back at work I have 150 pages of eventlog entries with mostly just “Interface changed: [ifAdminStatus] '' -> '0'”. So I’l sadly take it back, and now say that it’s not fixed. Sorry.

Previously we had no constraints on the data. Now we reject what isn't a valid entry to save database space.

Probably we should rewrite unknown stuff to unknown.

Terribly annoying that vendors return invalid data. What do they actually mean? Is this port up or down?
