Interface percent usage (ifInOctets_perc) going above 100
Hi there,
I've configured an alert that checks if ifInOctets_perc exceeds 80% utilisation and I'm finding that the alert is being triggered for normal amounts of traffic.
What steps can I take to resolve this?
Here's an example alert email:
ALERT *Alert* *Entity* en1 *Conditions* ifInOctets_perc ge 80 (275) ifOutOctets_perc ge 80 (80) *Metrics* ifInOctets_perc = 275 ifOutOctets_perc = 80 *Duration* 4m 36s (2016-08-17 08:31:09) Device *Device* server1.example.com *Hardware* Generic x86 [64bit] *Operating System* Mac OS X 15.6.0 *Location* *Uptime* 12 days, 10h 45m 35s port_percent
Hi,
this mean interface speed incorrectly discovered for your interface(s).
Check it in "device -> ports" page. You can set interface speed (ifSpeed) manually in page "device -> properties -> ports".
