
Thank You. I do agree with you that an IPMI does add a lot of things but I found that the agent+IPMI check provide even more info,
One thing that I don't if possible is actually creating an alarm while there is a hardware failure, With Idrac snmp you can do that with one snmpwalk command.

You can add the idrac to its associated host directly to poll more data. Open the host and click the gear icon. There's an area to add the IPMI controller to the host. Once added IIRC you get some of the various temp sensors and such from the idrac.
