even though their m0 are uniquely reachable, there's no currently obvious way to watch the standby, since even though its DNS is unique, addhost sees sysName and rejects it as being a duplicate.

Hmm. I'm not really sure how to deal with that.
The sysName restriction exists because we use the sysName quite a lot for *DP linking and autodiscovery.
If we removed the restriction, each device would possibly be autodiscovered once for every IP it has!
