Re: [Observium] SSD for better performance
I would recommend dumping the data to a real disk occasionally, as observium/rrd-style workloads are pretty hard on flash-based storage.
I have SSDs in my workstations, but I'm not sure if I'd trust them in a server quite yet.
Please report back if/when it breaks :-)
Adam.

Hi,
Data is dumped to spindle nightly for backups.
As with everything, the question isn't "if" it fails, it's "when". I'll report back when it does.
Regards,
Michael
Hi,
We are running a little over 10 months on RAID1 SSD, with hourly backups to spindles as well. Works like a charm. (~16GB of RRD's) Performance uptake is massive.
We know it will fail eventually, but have deployed countermeasures, there's 2 disks next to the server , awaiting replacement.
