Agree, and in detail a dedicated DNS server on the Observium host could be configured to match all monitored machines with arbitrary non-FQDN names, if needed.

Hi Observium Admins, in our organization we are using Observium CE 17.9.0 since some months with great satisfaction, monitoring about 240 devices. When we add a new device into Observium we use its IP Address as Hostname so, when an Alert is sent out from Observium, we get an email like this:

It would be nice to have, in the Device section, also the Sysname field listed together with the default fields (Device, Hardware, Operating System, Location and Uptime): is it possible to do that? I searched in the Observium online documentation and also googled it, but I did not find anything significant. Is maybe available somewhere an "howto" document? or do you have any suggestion?
