Hello all,
I have attached an image of the alerts in question, the names and locations have been removed. It only happens on these two servers out of 20+ different servers. What causes this behavior ? I cannot seem to find any differences between servers. I am using the community edition on centos 6.5 , if that helps at all.
Thanks,
R. Prihoda

Make sure SSH and SNMP are enabled on the servers. What OS are you using on these servers?

SSH and SNMP and SMTP are running just fine. These are centos 6.4 boxes. I got frustrated and deleted them, but kept the RRDs and then did a discover and poller on each device and the issue is gone....for now.
Thanks again,
Ryan

Hi,
Please do not use service checks in Observium, as the documentation notes.
Thanks, Tom

Tom,
I saw that and turned it off in config, yet the problem still persisted. That is why I was confused as to why the alerts weren't going away.
Thanks again,

Aha!
Well, if you turn off the services part and poller, the alerts are probably not purged from the database. And as the services poller no longer runs, it'll never fix itself...
Best to truncate the services table in the database to get rid of this then.

Deleting the device without removing the rrds, and adding it back did the trick nicely.

For reference, the "services" code is all 6 year old trash, written before I had any idea how anything should work...

We'll I'm trying to move to the agent but I am having difficulty getting it to return data, but that is an email for next week once I can examine it closer.
