Hmmm,
Do you know more or where I can start looking or to troubleshoot this? I deleted all the files and folders in the installation directory except the rrd folder and the config.php file. I then copied the newer files downloaded via svn into the installation directory but the problem still exists. Could the problem be in the rrd folder files or the config.php files? I am really baffled by this.

The last time i investigated this, it was due to bad data being stored for the CDP info from my HP ProCurve switches. When i investigated directly using snmpwalk it seemed to be OK, but when it found its way into the database it was corrupt. This didn't occur for LLDP info, only CDP. I didn't get a chance to track it down any further than that.

Yes, I had the same problem, but I fixed this a while back by checking CDP hostnames for valid characters... (I think?)

When i get a chance, i'll try cleaning out the relevant rows in the database and see if they come back.

Ironically it's now partially broken for me (doesn't fit in the window anymore).
Please consider the map to be a partially unsupported feature until we find a graphviz rainman type to fix it for us.
Graphviz really is some mind-bendingly arcane shit.

But when you start using it, you become somewhat addicted to it. Everyone likes graphs, you can't deny that and graphviz doing it job, by its own way of course ;)

Yes, I think we had an issue with not cleaning out links from the database, so that should help Paul...
Maps work nicely for me now though; so I'm happy :)
The full map is an unsupported feature, I don't think too much is broken in the device maps right now?

I'm not so usually use full map, but checked just now. And now when interfaces names gone, its become less useful, but still give you some view of your net. And as Adam says correctly this is unsupported feature, so I can't complain about this :). We are still stick to apps like racktables/racksmith to do more this kind stuff.
