It actually has a series of different things it can do depending upon configuration.

The original design was to use sysContact, but many vendors don't handle sysContact properly, so we provide a means of setting a default in the config

There is also some code to define per-checker addresses in the database, but there isn't an editing interface for this yet. This is what the op was talking about!
