NEWBIE Question: Global MIB Configuration
I am looking through the Global MIB Configuration and I see loads and loads of MIBs that are not used within my infrastructure. Things like Cisco, and A3COM, and many more. My question is two fold. The first is, is it good practise to disable non-used MIBS Then my second question is, is there a way to mass update the disabling of MIBS. The issue is, if I select a MIB and click disable, then the page refreshes and goes to teh top of the page. This is annoying for many because there are very many MIBs that I would like to disable.
Thanks in advance for a GREAT product. Keep it up.
Thanks Lawrence
Sorry, another thing I was wondering about. Is there any extra/less load on the application by having more of less MIBs loaded.
Lawrence
There's no actual benefit to doing this. The ability to disable MIBs is a debugging feature.
MIBs aren't "loaded" by Observium. The "disabling" a MIB just prevents Observium discovering things that are covered by the MIB.
