Since there is no reporting in Observium, how do you get a list of devices and the metric "availability"? That value is not stored in the DB (I think), the only way is to retrieve it from the RRD files, correct?

Yeah. This would require some rrdtool magic to extract the number. You can either extract the data as a JSON and calculate it, or generate a "graph" and output the legend numbers as text.
Not super complex, but a bit fiddly either way.
