Hi Guys,
Can someone please fix the links on the sensors section of the home page (please see below or attached).
[cid:image001.png@01CF240B.61979D00]
If you click on ports/devices under Down it takes you to the down devices or ports, but on sensors it just takes you to the health page.
Example: http://observium.domain.com/devices/status=0/ (Devices down link) Example: http://observium.domain.com/health/ (Sensors down link)
I hope the above makes sense... :)
PS: Our sensors are on Dell/SuperMicro IPMI devices.

What page would you prefer to go to? There is no "sensors" page.

Damn, sorry Tom, didn't realize that there isn't a sensors page. Would it be possible to create one or is this something that still needs to be implemented?

We have a page for each 'type' of sensor, which is part of the 'health' page.
I suppose we could link to health :)

It would be helpful if we could link to a filtered "Alerted Sensors" page similar to the way the Devices and Ports sections have their filtered state views. It would probably have to be a simplified view since the various sensors all have different data fields, but just having a quick glance view with the device name, sensor type, and sensor name would be enough. -- Cameron Moore Manager of Systems & Networks Hardin-Simmons University, Technology Services Ph: (325) 670-1506 Fx: (325) 670-1570

Hrm. This would involve some table reading in a way we don't currently do.
We'd have to go through the alerts table picking out sensor_ids for sensors which weren't up and then pull the sensor entries for those. I'm not sure how slow/fast it'd load.
I'll have a look.

Well, that table would get very, very large, it would be identical (and quicker) to show the alert_entry contents :P
If you've not already looked, all alert test / entity pairs are individually given an alert_entry table row, and that's where you find the status of everything.
SELECT * FROM `alert_entries` WHERE status != '1';

Are we talking about two different things here? I'm not referring the Alerts capabilities but to the state of Sensors (up, alert, ignored, disabled). I only said "Alerted Sensors" because that's how the first summary table displays them[1] (which may get confusing in the future). I poked around in the database the other day and thought everything was already there in the sensors and sensors-state tables.

Sure, but that "alerted sensors" style will probably go away as soon as it fits nicely into the new alerting system.... hopefully.

Well, yea, that's kind of what i mean. I think. ;-)

Well, that table would get very, very large, it would be identical (and quicker) to show the alert_entry contents :P
If you've not already looked, all alert test / entity pairs are individually given an alert_entry table row, and that's where you find the status of everything.
SELECT * FROM `alert_entries` WHERE status != '1';

Alerting should just create events. Then we display open events. done/done :)

Hrm. This would involve some table reading in a way we don't currently do.
We'd have to go through the alerts table picking out sensor_ids for sensors which weren't up and then pull the sensor entries for those. I'm not sure how slow/fast it'd load.
I'll have a look.

It would probably have to be a simplified view since the various sensors all have different data fields, but just having a quick glance view with the device name, sensor type, and sensor name would be enough.

What page would you prefer to go to? There is no "sensors" page.

Hi Guys,
Can someone please fix the links on the sensors section of the home page (please see below or attached).
If you click on ports/devices under Down it takes you to the down devices or ports, but on sensors it just takes you to the health page.
Example: http://observium.domain.com/devices/status=0/ [2] (Devices down link)
Example: http://observium.domain.com/health/ [3] (Sensors down link)
