Hi Guys
Can you advise on how to get the VM Tab to appear on my console? I am using Observium Pro. Installed on a debian box. i have added my host onto observium and that works fine. I would like to be able to see each vm on that host Via Observium.
OKay so my VM tab has shown up thankfully.
Is it possible to monitor the VMs resources by just adding the host onto observium?
Hi,
You'll need to add snmp to your guest VMs and add them to Observium (maybe auto-discovery will do the adding automatically, given all pre-requisites are met). If the VM names in VMWare match Observium's hostnames, the VMs tab will make the guest's names clickable.
HTH,
Ahmed.

Hi Sir
So would this be possible without adding each VM onto observium? Or is that the only way to get the live resource usage
Hi,
If you don't add the guest VMs themselves to Observium, the Host will only expose basic information in the VMs tab. Getting all detailed information from the guest will require installing snmp on the guest. As far as I know that is all that is possible.
