I can see site2site tunnels as active and can see the traffic but can we also monitor its state and alert on this? Or get a site2site uptime number?

It is like this, we use observium to poll over wan, could you monitor the site-2-site between site a and b without having a site2site to observium

The VPN stuff isn't terribly good at the moment. We might do this in future, but it would mean rewriting a few things (if the MIBs are structured in a reliable way, I.E. entries remaining when VPNs are shut down)
