incomplete inventory in Synology NAS?

Hi, i added a few synologyNAS to play with in observium and i noticed that the inventory tab seems incomplete. In the main overview i see there are 8 disks in the system, but in the inventory tab only 5 numbered items are listed. But all the /dev/sdx devices are listed.
1536 ST3000DM001-1CH166 hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1537 ST3000DM001-1CH166 hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1538 ST3000DM001-1CH166 hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1539 ST3000DM001-1CH166 hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1540 ST3000DM001-1CH166 hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1552 SCSI disk (/dev/sda) hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1553 SCSI disk (/dev/sdb) hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1554 SCSI disk (/dev/sdc) hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1555 SCSI disk (/dev/sdd) hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1556 SCSI disk (/dev/sde) hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1557 SCSI disk (/dev/sdf) hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1558 SCSI disk (/dev/sdg) hrDeviceDiskStorage 0 1559 SCSI disk (/dev/sdh) hrDeviceDiskStorage 0
Is there anything i can do to add or check to help in see what is going wrong? (if there is going wrong at all :)

Hi Steffie,
We only display what the device tells us about.
It seems that for some reason it isn't enumerating the other 3 devices.
You can try walking the host-resources-mib to see what information it's returning.
Adam.

It's a hard for me to know what to do with that information :) But i guess the device just doesn't return all description information if i look at the list. There appear some numbers missing. Below a snippet of the snmpwalk output.

Yeah, the SNMP agent isn't enumerating all of the drives.
Perhaps on a different interface or something where the driver doesn't enumerate them properly.
Either way, not really something we can fix :/

I understand :) Not a big issue, because on the overview page the disks are present, and there are numbers like temperatures getting back from those other disks.

Yeah, the disk status data (temps, state, ..) are taken from Synology's own MIB, which is complete - the HR mib with the missing data is only used to populate the inventory tab.
Would be nice to have that correct though, but you'd have to contact the vendor and let them know they can fix it in the next OS release ;-)

Hi Steffie,
We only display what the device tells us about.
It seems that for some reason it isn't enumerating the other 3 devices.
You can try walking the host-resources-mib to see what information it's returning.
Adam.
