Hi All!
I was thinking whether there is some way to make the graphs more user friendly. I am talking about aggregated RRDTool graphs that have more data lines in it. One example (as seen in the attached screenshot) is the typical filesystem usage graph of a linux host, that has a legend below it, but as the colors are not quite unique (at more than 5-6 data lines some colors will overlap inevitably) you can't really find out which line is which. If you want to find out which data line has that glitch that you saw in the aggregated graph, there is no other way than looking at each data separately.
Is there a way/plan to overcome this limitation?

I will change the colour scheme for this graph.
It can be difficult to create schemes that scale beyond 10-12 colours and allow you to differentiate between lines!
I recently added a few new colour schemes which should help.

Will the schemes be updated automatically as we upgrade or is there something we need to change in the config?

It's all automatic. We don't do very much that requires user intervention :)

I suppose using something like D3 <d3js.org>, dygraphs http://dygraphs.com or Rikshaw http://code.shutterstock.com/rickshaw would mean way to much work to invest?
My favorite would be something like this http://dygraphs.com/gallery/#g/highlighted-series.

Getting the data out of red and into another graphing application is difficult. Not impossible, but a very large time investment for questionable payoff.
