Missing some nice stats from Cisco 9800 that I got from Cisco 5520
Hi
Our organization recently upgraded from Cisco 5520 WLC to Cisco 9800 WLC. In observium I get really good statistics about wireless client count and wireless ap count on the 5520 but not on the 9800. I am not sure if this is something on observium side or cisco side. But I wanted to ask if anyone has the same issue and if they found a solution. Or maybe this is just something that needs to be added.
Please let me know if there is any further information I can submit.
Best regards Andri
I vaguely recall something about this recently, the 9800 is an IOS device that reports as IOS, rather than running the older WLC OS?
I can't remember the reason for the complexity, I think we just need to look at the ability to allow IOS devices to poll the old WLC MIBs, though obviously not globally as 99.9% of IOS doesn't do wifi.
What is the sysObjectID and sysDescr of this device?
adam.

Hi Adam,
For the 9800 WLC, I see:
sysObjectID .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.2530 sysDescr Cisco IOS Software [Cupertino], C9800 Software (C9800_IOSXE-K9), Version 17.9.2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
The recent Catalyst 9136 series access points also support air quality monitoring - please let me know what you need (walk data etc.) to display the environmental data - it would be very useful.
Thanks again
Darren

Sadly, Cisco told me that the old-style SNMP status for all the WAPs connected to 9800 WLC is not supported... Has anyone else had any success?
Thanks
Darren

How do they think you should be collecting AP status now?
