Hi Everyone!
Is there a way to find out the date of the "first contact" with a device from Observium? I mean for example the date when the first discovery was run on a specific device, or something like this? (Currently the device's event log runs out after half a year.)
Any ideas?

If you log in to the Observium machine and check the RRD folder you should probably be able to find the creation date for the device folder and its RRD files. Thats the only way I can think of

Couldn't be this included as a device property, a'la 'first seen'?
Maybe even better would be to keep some event log entries for longer (maybe forever). I can think of some entries like this first seen entry, the "toner replaced" event for printers, battery changed for UPS's and such!?

Eventlog removal is done by housekeeping scripts, you can set those times for whatever you like.
More data is more slower, though. MySQL scales poorly for that sort of thing. :)
