After adding ASR 1002 (used as PPPOE termination) to Observium, CPU on ASR raised to 90%, and stayed that way, untill I blocked it (after 30 minutes). Normal CPU is aroiund 10%. Is this a normal? Don't think so.... ASR1002 has cca 5000 connected users.

Did you check which process responsible for such high load? Is it "SNMP ENGINE"? Pretty sure its IOS related, as many snmp new mib added in every XE release.

The cause could be that Observium is trying to poll each pppoe user as an ppp interface.

Yes, SNMP ENGINE is responsible. IOS version is IOS-XE, Version 15.1(1)S

Run the discovery with -d and see of its getting stuck at a certain point when the CPU begins to spike. It might be a case of an OID that is tickling a bug in the SNMP agent of the ASR.
