Support for Huawei MA5600T GPON OLT
Hello,
I’m looking for NMS with support for full query and monitoring of MA5600T series Huawei GPON OLT, but with no luck.
Huawei NMS – iManager U2000 costs huge amount of money and it not completely suit to my needs.
We use Observium for few months with Cisco, Extreme Networks and D-Link devices and it seems to be ideal solution, but with MA5600T there works only basic things like traffic on Ethernet ports.
I have full MIB library for this device but I’m not a programmer so cannot make support by myself.
I have some devices in lab, so can share access and also would like to help if anyone with skills would like to work on this.

Normally devices are supported in one of 4 ways:
a) One of the developers uses the device and wants support for it himself b) We think it would improve the usefulness of the software to a significant number of people c) Someone writes support for the device themselves and contribute it to us d) Someone pays one of the developers to add support for the device
In this instance neither a) nor b) are likely to apply, and you're not capable of c), so that only leaves d).
I also note that you seem not to be a subscriber. Don't you think it's a little rude to post asking someone else to write code for you, when you've not even contributed towards the upkeep of what already exists?

Hi, Do You know that Huawei occupies about 60% of world GPON market? I'm sure that this support can be usefull for many people. In Poland for example MA5600T platform is used by more than hundred ISP's. Observium is going to be popular too.
As I mentioned I'm using Observium for few months. This is because we still do not make a decision if we will use it in production environment. If yes, we will subscribe surly.
If we talk about donation, I do not exclude the possibilities. My intention was to make support together with some programmer. I do not expect that someone will do it for me, certainly not for free.
