We monitor our clients through Observium. I wanted to know how I can add individual alert contacts so when a connection of a customer goes down, it sends an alert to us but also directly to the client who's affected.

This is a very complex requirement to model, and is best done by an external service like PagerDuty or VictorOps where you can build rules to direct alerts based on various things.
To do something like this in Observium you'd need to create individual alert checkers for each customer entity.
